Fishie

Fishie you must live on.
There’s a reason why you must do so.
I don’t care if you are willing or not.
If not for my sake then does who remember you, dear.

Fishie, do you remember the time
When dad first bought you home
I wasn’t very excited with your presence
And said that it’s a chore having your existence.

I was completely ignorant.
Of course I forgot that you weren’t owned by me
At that moment.
You belonged to dad.

But when he left for Australia.
I did not care much about you either
Just giving you the right amount of food before I go to bed.
Just wishing that you were dead.

Little did I know you had planted your soul
Into a part of me.
However, your same cycle goes on.
Feed, swim, sleep.

Some of your scales missing.
That was when I begun wondering.

Why didn’t I take better care of you?
It is my fault and nobody else’s
Dad gave me the responsibility…

But no, time can never be turned back.
Everyday we’re growing older.
Fishie you must live on.
There’s a reason why you must do so.

But Fishie, if you are in pain
I am willing to send you to the doorsteps of heaven.
Where there is more peace and you’ll have a better life.
However, remember those who had loved you once dear.
